  • 1 cup apple cider
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoon whole grain mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce



Simmer the apple cider in a saucepan (medium sized) over medium heat until the sauce reduces by half. This takes around ten minutes.

Add the Ketchup, mustard, vinegar, brown sugar, dry mustard, paprika, and Worcestershire. Simmer this mixture of ingredients until it thickens. This takes about thirty minutes.

Prepare the shrimp


  • 2 pounds medium shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup dry sherry
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley leaves (roughly chopped)
  • ¼ cup dry sherry
  • 1 small shallot (minced)
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.
  • 2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 4 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • Salt to taste



Put the shrimp in a resealable plastic bag. Put together the oil, lemon, sherry, parsley, shallot, garlic, red pepper flakes, and zest in a sizeable cup. Pour the combination over the shrimp. Squeeze any air and seal the plastic bag. Leave the shrimp to marinate in the fridge for about thirty minutes to one hour.


Sprinkle the oak chips at the bottom center of the smoker and position the rack. Take your shrimp from the refrigerator, remove from the wet mixture, and put it on the rack. Do not dry the shrimp. Now close the smoker’s lid and set the heat to medium. Smoke the shrimp until cooked. This can take around ten minutes. A good tip here is that shrimp will turn pink when fully cooked.


Pull off the shrimps once done with the cooking. You can garnish with fresh parsley and some lemon juice. The garnishing is optional but will add great taste to the shrimp.
